Give Yourself Grace (A 10 Second Pep Talk For Marketing)

As the year goes on, it is really easy to look at resolutions set and goals written down as far as the marketing you’re going to do this year and go “well that isn’t happening.”

The thing is, every day you wake up to a new beginning, and another opportunity to chase your dreams! That may sound a bit much for a marketing blog, but it is important to note.

Some days can be super overwhelming, or feel like it’s too late, or you missed the boat. Maybe you had a whole content schedule planned and all these things you wanted to do and now you’re looking at it and going “I didn’t even start on any of that!”

This week’s blog post is a simple one: Give yourself some grace.

So you’re 5 weeks behind? OK.

That means that tomorrow is Day 1. It isn’t the end of the world to get going in the middle of a month.

The only way you’re going to for sure fail is if you suck up all your energy being angry at yourself for everything you haven’t done, instead of taking a breath, saying it sucks, and moving forward from that point working to do better.

And as a spoiler alert: You’re going to mess up again.

Perfection is impossible in this universe.

But, falling down is only a problem if you don’t get back up.

Now, there is the other side of this which is that every day can not be Day 1. Saying “I will do it tomorrow!” on repeat all year long doesn’t get anything done.

But at the same time, beating yourself up or being so overwhelmed with everything you haven’t done is not very helpful for you either.

So bookmark this as a little pep talk for the next time you need it.

If you fall off the marketing wagon, just get back on it! Make a post, send an email, review and revise your schedule. Figure out what works for you and what doesn’t and move forward in a way that supports you for success.

You got this!
