JARED FIRESTONE DOCUMENTARY

Feature Film // Directed by Koura Linda

The most decorated male skeleton slider in Israel's history, holding 8 medals before qualifying for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina, South Florida native Jared Firestone went from a back brace, to high school track star, to flag bearer at the 2026 Winter Olympics, setting an example of Jewish and Israeli excellence and athleticism on the world stage.

This documentary follows his story, his family, friends, coach, and girlfriend, along with archival footage from his life including during the time of his stroke and throughout his life.

After watching "Munich" as a teenager, Jared was inspired to shatter stereotypes and excel as a Jewish athlete. He wanted to honor the victims, celebrate life, and inspire the next generation of proud Jewish athletes to do the same.

So, when his back brace came off in high school and he had a "Forrest Gump" moment, breaking school track and field records, and it looked like he was running full speed ahead.

That was until he survived a mini-stroke in law school. His life derailed, but he was later introduced to the dangerous world of skeleton sliding. Regaining his strength, Jared chose to change athletic lanes, apply for dual citizenship, and train for the Winter Olympics in skeleton, (the death-defying 80 MPH head-first race down a track of solid ice). He chose to do this despite having a late career start in a new sport, no coach, and no funding for equipment or training.

With nothing but relentless determination, Jared pushed forward, raising his own funds, working to learn and train and traveling the world, but sadly just missed qualification for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

He never gave up and so went on to win the first and only Gold Medal for Israel in the North America Cup.

Right as things were looking up, he tore his bicep and considered retirement from professional athleticism while he healed. But the events of October 7th reminded him why he started on this journey in the first place, and he kept going.

He is now the most decorated male skeleton slider in Israel's history, qualifying for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina, where he was selected as a flag bearer during the 2026 Opening ceremonies.

Since competing in the Olympics, Jared has been booked to speak at schools and events across the country where he shares his story and inspiration for the next generation of dream-chasers. He’s also continued to chase his own dreams, and has thrown out the opening pitch for the Miami Marlins, and for Team Israel at the World Baseball Classic.
